Jodi Barber is the mother of 2 boys Jarrod and Blake. Two years ago Jodi and her family experienced a terrible tragedy and a parents worst nightmare. On January 8, 2010 her oldest son Jarrod died from a drug overdose, at age 19. Jodi is now on a crusade to educate teens, their families and communities on the dangers and possible fatal outcomes of drug use, both prescribed and street drugs. She has partnered with another parent, Christine Brant, to create a film titled Overtaken. Statiscally, every 17 minutes someone in the U.S.experiences a drug overdose and is now the leading cause of death among young people in many states. Jodie joins us to share her story, discuss Overtaken and the many lives affected and lost by drug use.
