Profile:Daniel Parker/Oscar Nom/Make-up Artist/ Cloud Atlas

Mr. Daniel Parker is a prolific make-up artist working in the industry over the last few decades. His work can been see in the upcoming Cloud Atlas directed by the Andy and Lana Wackowski. He wasnominated for an Acdemy Award for his amazing work on Frankenstein. In 1980 he swiftly moved onto his first film at a studio, “Raiders of the Lost Ark” as Steven Spielberg's and production runner. He then, in 1982, went straight onto George Lucas' “Return of the Jedi”. In 1992/3, under the banner of Daniel Parker and Animated Extras, Daniel Co-Chiefed “Mary Shelly's Frankenstein” with a long-term friend and colleague Paul Engelen…this led to them being nominated for an Oscar and a British Film Award. Daniel's work on this film is still today considered to be some of the most groundbreaking and inventive work of all time with his now famous Make-up on Robert De Niro.Animated Extras and Daniel parted company in 2000 having worked on many features and commercials with great success. Daniel then went straight onto designing the prosthetics and effects for “A Band of Brothers”, for HBO and was nominated again for another Emmy. Since then Daniel has remained an independent Make-up Artist with his most recent award being a BAFTA in 2003 for “The Gathering Storm”, Directed by Richard Loncraine.Daniel's more recent achievements have been for his supervising work on Mel Gibson's film “Apocalypto”, Oscar nominated for its Make-up, Best Film Oscar winner “The Hurt Locker” and an RTS nomination for his TV work.
