In 1943, when German Soldiers advanced into the Katyn Forest area, local townspeople informed them of the massacre. Germany requested the Red Cross to examine the exhumed remains and report their findings to the world. More than 4,500 were found in a mass grave at Katyn, all having a gunshot in the back of the head. The Western News Media fell silent. What were they hiding? Why were they hiding it?
