SKOOL SHANGO BLAKE Inspired by success with these new models as well as the theoretical frameworks gained with the attainment of a Masters Degree in Communication, Mr. Blake seeks to use his experience to build relationships around the advocacy for unique and international programs, brands, leaders, and ideas that enrich public knowledge and product placement. ? After several years as a reformer and an innovator in the public school systems of America, Shango Blake shares with his audiences his story, his accomplishments, and insights that he has gained from his experiences. The lessons this Educator has learned throughout his journey can serve the parents, teachers, students, educational leaders, and members of the community at large who are invested in the education and empowerment of our young people. While facing the challenges faced by any dedicated educator - such as identifying the areas for school improvement, closing the racial achievement gap, and figuring out how to engage young people into becoming invested in their own futures – Mr. Blake has also faced the unique challenges that come with being a conscious Black Man in the field of public education. Nonetheless, Mr. Blake has proven successful time and time again with his own methods in the face of opposition. Dubbed “The Hip Hop Principal” by parents and students, Mr. Blake has taken the powerful and magnetic force known as Hip Hop and channeled it into a tool that gets young urban students excited about education while at the same time building their self-esteem and confidence. The Hip Hop Project also benefitted the students by creating a project-based model for teaching valuable skills and lessons that extended from the classroom into practical application.
