Supreme Court Hears Case On Arizona Voting Laws The Supreme Court this morning heard oral arguments on whether Arizona can require documentary proof of citizenship from registering voters. At question is whether the state can add such conditions on top of federal regulations. While a number of new controversial voter laws were enacted last year, this particular case involves an initiative passed by Arizona voters in 2004. We talk to Robert Behre, Political Reporter for The Charleston Post. Obama Nominates Thomas Perez for Labor Secretary President Obama today nominated Thomas Perez for Labor Secretary. Perez heads the Civil Rights Division of the Department of Justice. President Obama called Perez a tireless worker for proper pay and against labor discrimination, but Republicans have criticized Thomas for his role at the Justice Department suggesting that his department acted ideologically.
